Disney world christmas decorations come down. There is often no trace of them before the first week of january is done. Just like when the decorations go up the removal is a process that spans days if not weeks and results in not everything being removed at once. As beautiful as the christmas decorations are they too have an end date each season. We typically see decorations start to come down a few days after new years eve with the exception being the lights on cinderellas castle.

The international festival of the holidays just ended december 29 so epcot wasted no time. So just when do they take the decorations down at disney world. Usually decorations around the parks and resorts begin to be dismantled as early as new years day. That means guests arriving the first week of january will see a dwindling of decorations with the majority of them being taken down by the first weekend in january.

However those christmas elves that work around the clock on october 31st and november 1st miraculously making the transition from halloween to christmas will also be hard at work on january 1st and january 2nd removing these holiday trimmings. The decorations typically start coming down after the first week in january for all parks and resorts but it happens gradually in fact this process could take weeks. This typically lasts until right after the walt disney world marathon weekend. The icon tree was already taken down on december 30.
